New things I tried in April

As usual, this month I’ve been going out of my way to try new things. It’s a habit I strongly recommend and I always enjoy looking back at the end of the month to see what I’ve been able to try.

This month I’ve tried:

Visiting Arran

This Easter we visited the Isle of Arran for a one night stay. We walked along the beach, played mini golf, ate ice cream and found some prehistoric art. I can’t wait for the next chance to visit a Scottish Island

JM Hair to get the last of the blue removed from my hair

Brown hair, still smiling.

Needs must, you know. I finally removed the last of the blue from my hair and went back to brown. Not easy to do it turns out, but the lovely folk at JM Hair made it look lovely.

The Gin Lounge in Falkirk

More, please

This month Falkirk’s The Wine Library launched their sister bar, The Gin Lounge. Obviously, I had to be there and I loved what I saw (or, y’know, tasted).

Cycling with Bike&Go

The union canal, perfect for a cycle especially if, like me, you’re not a fan of big hills

We’ve had a couple of sunny weekends this month so I signed up for the bike rental scheme, Bike&Go which allows you to rent bikes from stands outside train stations. We cycled to the Milk Barn to get ice cream, and also to the Bridge 49 Cafe. No doubt I’ll be making use of that scheme more as the weather continues to improve.

A Hen do!

In the last weekend of April, I went to a hen do on the banks of Loch Lomond! I’ve never been to a hen do before, but if they’re all as fun as this I’m glad that I’m at the age when all my friends seem to be getting married. P’s sister is getting married in July and we had a brilliant time celebrating with her. Hangover notwithstanding.

As usual, it’s been a busy month! Also a fun month, but no wonder I’m feeling a bit knackered. Already I’m looking forward to seeing what March will bring.

What have you been up to this month? Have you been trying anything new? Anything I just have to try as soon as possible? Let me know in the comments.

  1. The one thing that comes to my mind that I did this month that is new is that I went quad biking. It was for a stag do for an old Uni friend and it’s in the middle of nowhere outside Stirling. it was a “safari”, so no racing, but it was sort of hillwalking, but without the walking 🙂 It took a while to get the hang of controlling the vehicle and longer to trust it (ie that it won’t tip over or stall) but once you realise that they’re practically indestructible, can get up all kinds of terrain and are impossible to stall, they are immense fun. It was a complete blast.
