Product review: Trifle Cosmetics Buttercream hydrating body lotion

For the second month in a row, Glossybox made a mistake when they sent my box. In April, two products were just missing. In May, they sent a product that wasn’t listed on my newsletter card. I got a body scrubber rather than an eyeshadow brush. Now, it just so happens that I quite like the body scrubber, so this isn’t the hugest deal, but it is annoying that Glossybox don’t seem to have their act together right now.

Trifle Cosmetics Buttercream Hydrating Body Lotion and Claire Fischer Reinigende Maske

Anyway, since they were out of the eyeshadow brushes they sent me were out of stock they sent me a Trifle Cosmetics Buttercream Hydrating Body Lotion and another Claire Fischer Reinigende Maske (they sent one of these when they messed up last month, I suspect they have a warehouse full of them). I guess I’ll give the spare to my mother or something.

In the meantime, the Trifle Cosmetics Buttercream Hydrating Body Lotion is LUSH. Seriously. I smell like a cream cake in the best way possible. I kind of want to eat it but I have a feeling it won’t taste quite as good as it smells. A full-size tube goes for $15.95, which works out as about £12.50 and even though my go-to moisturiser is a Nivea moisturiser which you can easily get for £2.50, I’d pay it. It’s worth it for the scent alone.

The consistency is smooth. It’s not the richest ever but it does feel like it’s actually doing something, and needs a moment to be fully absorbed. After that, it doesn’t feel at all greasy or sticky and it leaves the skin feeling soft and supple. Oh, and the fragrance lasts for ages. I can still tell that it’s there a good six hours after use. Maybe not quite “all day” as the tube claims, but that’s still pretty darn good.

Another thing the tube claims is that if you subscribe to their newsletter and use the code TRIFLE20, you can get 20% off your first order. Disclaimer: I get nothing for sharing this information with you, I’m just nice. Personally, I’ll be having a good gander at their range and their international shipping prices, If you happen to try anything else they have, I’d love to hear about it.
